Council Member James Vacca, Chair of the NYC Council Committee on Technology, allocates a total of $450,000 to parochial schools in his district for pre-k programs with schools receiving grants ranging from $35,000 to $65,000 based on the number of UPK classes they house. Several of the NE/E Bronx schools were awarded the auspicious grant, they are as follow: St. Theresa School, St. Frances de Chantal, St. Mary Star of the Sea, St. Lucy’s, St. Francis Xavier, Villa Marie Academy, Our Lady of Assumption and St. Clare of Assisi.
